“Khoomei is not about learning a trick, but about awakening to an innate ability.”
The Official Online Course of the late Master Otgonhuu.
Why Traditional Method?
Most people today use the “outer voice,” producing sound only with the throat and vocal folds. Over time, we have forgotten our “inner voice”—a primal ability possessed by our ancestors.
Khoomei is the re-awakening of this inner voice. It is produced deep inside the body, resonating in the chest (Xiaha). Unlike the “throat squeeze” technique that causes pain, the traditional Chest Connection is safe, natural, and spiritually grounding. It connects you back to your innate instincts.

Master Otgonhuu
Born in Uvs, Mongolia, Master Otgonhuu grew up surrounded by the ancient sounds of the Altai Mountains. He dedicated over 40 years to mastering and preserving the art of Khoomei.
His mission was clear: “Khoomei does not belong only to the Mongolian people; it is a great art that belongs to all of humanity.”
He believed that in an era of rapid change, we must protect the “soul” of this art. Through this course, he left behind a systematic method to help students worldwide find their own connection to nature and their inner self.
Courses
Khoomei
The Foundation (Xiaha) This is the base tone and the core of our method. It focuses on the “Chest Connection” (Xiaha). You will learn to produce a rich, resonant sound from deep within your body, establishing the essential foundation for all overtone singing.
Sygyt
The Whistle Overtone Known as “Isgeree” in Mongolian. This style creates a sharp, flute-like melody that floats above the base tone. By learning to control the tongue and breath, you will produce clear, piercing overtones that sound like the whistling wind or birdsong.
Kargyraa
The Deep Throat Singing Often called the “Golden Category.” Kargyraa creates a deep, rumbling vibration that combines throat and chest resonance. It is powerful and magnetic, reminiscent of the growling sounds of nature or the chanting of monks.
